EP Launch a Success!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Hugh’s Room on September 22 for our EP launch! We had a great time playing to a packed house, performing classic Roofhoppers songs and debuting new material.

It was a real treat to have the wonderful Anna Atkinson sit in on viola, and The Boxcar Boys sounded great as ever.

The Roofhoppers EP has arrived!

Well folks, here she is, The Roofhoppers’ debut EP. Freshly printed, looking beautiful, and sounding even better, we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

We had a great time recording with engineer Reuben Ghose. Our shared vision for this record made it really easy to obtain the sound we wanted: recorded live, almost no edits or overdubs, with an emphasis on capturing the raw, acoustic quality of our instruments as you would hear them in your living room.

For our first recording, we wanted to present The Roofhoppers’ live sound without sacrificing the quality of a studio album. What results is a document of our trio, with the immediacy and raucous energy of a live performance and the attention to detail our brand of chamber music demands. And of course, it features, as all fine records must, a Randy Newman cover. Enjoy!
